The position of Giwa is permanent, life and unchangeable. He presides all over the meetings and with the executive council performs all functions. The Giwa egbe also have the power to honour and confer honorary titles to deserving members. He administer oath of allegiance to new members, newly elected officers and chiefs.

The council of chiefs acts in advisory capacity to the executive council and liaise with traditional organisations, traditional rulers and other government and non-government agencies. The council has flexibility to focus on matters of greater importance and above all, the council foster strong and supportive relationships within the organisation and the society in general.

When organisation work closely together and communicate with each other, whether across boundaries or within the same area, there are benefits to the public. The council of chiefs works closely to monitor development projects and build a stronger regional, national and international voice for bobakeye and other traditional societies.
